Abstract

"Conscience" is the purpose of Wang Yangming's later years, and also Wang Yangming's simplest summary of his mind thought. The idea of "to conscience" is the inevitable result of the evolution of Wang Yangming's own thought, but it has also experienced a hard journey."Conscience" comes from the combination of "zhi" in "University" and the concept of "conscience" in "Mencius", and Wang Yangming gives it a richer connotation. Wang Yangming's thought of "promoting conscience" highlights the value of morality, establishes the status of the moral subject, and also carries forward the spirit of the unity of knowledge and action. Wang Yangming was an important representative of the "mind learning" movement of the Ming Dynasty, and also one of the most influential scholars at that time. He put forward "to the conscience" and "to talk about himself", which was an academic breakthrough and innovation in Wang Yangming.
