The article analyzes the reason why female consciousness arises in heroine through two aspects, that is, the oppression of woman and the awakening of female consciousness at the beginning. And then, this article illustrates the embodiment of feminism in To Room Nineteen by analyzing the shaping of three characters in this novel and the feminism reflected in this novel. The difference is that this article pays attention to the other two female characters which is often ignored by readers and finds the feminism from them. Reading Lessing's works from the perspective of feminist literature can not only deepen readers' understanding of the works, but also enable readers to fully and comprehensively understand Doris Lessing—a famous female writer, and contribute to the progress and development of world feminist literature. Although the study of To Room Nineteen is not comprehensive enough (for example, there is no detailed analysis of images and male roles in To Room Nineteen and so on), it still can provide some references and ideas for the study of contemporary feminist literary works.
